Martial Arts World Combat Guide: Controls and Parries

Find the mouse and keyboard combat controls for Martial Arts World and learn how to counterattack through a boss example of parrying and posture-break openings.

Use F to parry, then M1 / Left Click to light attack when an opening appears. Martial Arts World supports fighting with fists or weapons, but its basic combat approach is the same: read your opponent's strikes, parry, and attack the opening. Reckless attacks leave you exposed.

Mouse and keyboard combat controls

The official control list gives these inputs:

ActionInput
Light AttackM1 / Left Click
Heavy AttackM2 / Right Click
ParryF
Directional DodgeQ
SprintShift
JumpSpace
Lock CameraAlt
Target LockT
ExecuteY

Alt locks the camera; T is Target Lock. Keep those separate when choosing the control you need during a fight.

Turn a parry into a counterattack

In this boss-fight example, use a parry opening for an immediate hit and a posture break for skill attacks:

  1. Read the incoming move. In this encounter, non-red moves are parryable; red moves are the exception.
  2. Parry, then hit. Use F to parry a suitable attack, then follow with M1 / Left Click for a light counterattack through the opening.
  3. Use skills if the boss becomes posture broken. That vulnerable state is an opening for skill attacks, provided you have usable skills.

The red-move distinction is specific to this boss encounter.

Keep bandit groups small in Black Bamboo Hideout

During Clear the Black Bamboo Hideout, attract only one or two bandits at a time because larger groups make the fight harder.
